What is cosmetic dentistry?

This aspect of our dental health is important to all of us whether it be 1) restoring a fractured front tooth of a child or adult,
2) re-implantation of an avulsed front tooth and useing bonding for stabilization, 3) an orthodontic repositioning referral, 4) gum & bone repositioning referral to a periodontist, 5) tooth bonded ceramics or resin veneers, crowns, inlays, onlays or 6) implant restoration. All of these procedures have the common theme of maintaining or improving one's smile and function.

What is all this whitening about?

Whitening of teeth is safe and most often necessary prior to cosmetic therapy. Basically it is a method of cleaning out stains amongst the tiny prisms of enamel.
This process has little change for restorations previously placed. Most solutions are peroxide based.

When is a root canal needed?

Root canal therapy is necessitated when a tooth abcesses due to the irritation of deep decay or the result of trauma.
